Inherent problem with moderation system

“Because the moderators are anonymous, there is no incentive for them to be fair and unbiased. Without fairness and evenhandedness, the moderation rules are useless. The rules are at the whim of the moderator who is "watching the board" at the time.

Like I said months ago, there needs to be a system to report unfair moderating. No matter what "side" you are on, you have to admit that this site is highly slanted to the left and there is highly a bias towards piling on posters on the right.

With moderators who remain anonymous and have no accountability, the moderation system is worse than having none at all.”

As I later stated, I actually started mountainpeak as a test for myself to see if people would pile on somebody just because they have conservative views, or because they were "Sarge". Turns out, they piled on him for his views.”

Not true: the majority of the moderators might be anonymous to the main board but they do answer to each other. Abuse of "power" is met with the same fate as any abuses on the main board.”
